We are celebrating Kareem’s 40th birthday, using the celebration as a chance to reflect on where we have been and where we are going, including our inevitable death. We will be joining together in a ritual of Kareem’s transition from this life to the next. We will share words and symbolic offerings with him; we will journey through the deep listening into a metaphorical afterlife; and we will celebrate together what it means to be in communion.
